About this site
Hi. I’m George. I live in San Diego, but I don’t really do anything. Like, I’m not even sure how I got here. One day I was taking a nap in Del Mar, and I just never left.
People ask what I do for a living. I say, "Mostly I just try not to sweat." I’ve based my entire life around avoiding situations that require closed-toe shoes or any kind of urgency. I go to the beach almost every day — sometimes even touch the water. It’s exhausting.
My home break is 23rd Street in Del Mar. It’s where I almost surf every morning. I like it there because the waves are kind of scared of commitment, just like me. They roll in like, “Nah, I don’t wanna break yet,” and then they just… dissolve. I respect that.
I wake up around 10 (ish), eat something with avocado on it, and then make a huge deal about whether I should surf or not, like it’s a moral decision. Usually I just end up “assessing conditions” until sunset.
I once got a sunburn from walking to my car. Not even the beach — the car. That’s how San Diego punishes ambition.
Sometimes I work. Not often. Just enough to tell people, “Yeah, I’ve got a few things going on.” What are those things? Unclear. One of them might be a podcast that doesn’t exist yet.
I live on:
- Sunshine
- Sunscreen
- Soft tops
- Delusion
Look, if you’re here for productivity hacks or startup advice, I wish you all the best. But if you’re into:
- Tide charts as calendars
- Loitering professionally
- Forgetting your towel but still vibing
- Waves that whisper instead of roar
Then welcome. Let’s grab a burrito, stand near the water, and talk about all the things we might do… tomorrow.
